Pitchfork 7.6/10 After a stretch of dark, searching records, the former Hüsker Dü and Sugar leader uses the familiar power trio configuration to find a little peace.

The Line of Best Fit 7/10 A major change in perspective has taken place for the former Hüsker Dü man

Kerrang! 4/5 U.S. alt.rock icon Bob Mould continues to gild his legacy on Sunshine Rock

Rolling Stone 4/5 It's a pleasure to hear new music from Mould during America’s current cultural crisis. What may surprise you is how violently happy he can sound

DIY 4/5 A taut collection that fits timelessly into his ever-expanding legacy.

Under The Radar 7.0/10 After a run of three outstanding albums in the form of 2012's Silver Age, career-highlight Beauty & Ruin in 2014, and tear-stained gem Patch the Sky in 2016, former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman Bob Mould delivers a brighter, bolder rock record than one

Slant 3.5/5 The album proves that the tortured-artist path isn’t the only way to great rock ‘n’ roll.

Pop Matters 8/10 Bob Mould lives defiantly in the present.
