I Showed U So
Back in 2006, when Yo Gotti dropped the DJ Drama-hosted *I Told You So* mixtape, the Memphis rapper was on his independent come-up. He’d turned heads with the single “Gangsta Party,” but he was still a few years away from his first undeniable hits. Unlike some who jumped on the *Gangsta Grillz* bandwagon of late, he’d already made history with Drama feeding the streets on that project and seeks to do it all over again with this sequel. Throughout *I Showed U So*, he reflects on the old days before the glory and successes of his present-day life. He spits CMG history on “No Fake Love” and offers a glimpse into the lucrative street hustle on “1st Hunnid Bands,” with the renowned DJ shouting ad-libs and singular catchphrases. Moneybagg Yo makes a memorable appearance on “Mind My Business,” while Rich Homie Quan trades bars and more with Gotti for “Mandarin.”
Nearly 17 years after the Gangsta Grillz series provided Yo Gotti with a platform for only his third mixtape, the Memphis rapper reconnects with DJ Drama for I Showed U So.
