Yandel’s legacy is already well-assured, between a decades-long tenure in his pioneering duo with Wisin and a robust solo career laced with hits. Still, the seasoned Puerto Rican reggaetonero has enjoyed a certain renaissance in recent years, making his mark on albums from Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin, among others in a generation of contemporary artists who grew up with his catalog. For his first proper album since 2020’s *Quién Contra Mí 2*, he continues to capitalize on his immense status and the respect he deservedly receives from peers and successors alike. With features ranging from rapidly rising stars like Young Miko to fellow perreo vets Baby Rasta y Gringo, the guest-heavy *Resistencia* builds upon his strong run of 2022 singles, such as “Doxxis” with Arcángel and “Nunca y Pico” with Maluma and Eladio Carrión. He regroups with Wisin for the sexually charged “Te Gusta” and tag-teams with Feid for the similarly forceful albeit reggae-tinged “Yandel 150.”
