Not an actual live album but more of a mixtape/studio EP, *Live in Concert* was delayed for a while due to sample-clearance issues. But it was well worth the wait. Two of the most successful \"stoner rappers\" in hip-hop today, both Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y paid dues for many years before attaining legitimate superstar status. Unlike many of today\'s famous emcees, they eschew the current trends of techno beats and woozy synth washes, instead going the classic route of soul-funk samples and lots of them. Several tracks here generously mine the work of The Mizell Brothers and Bobbi Humphrey, paying homage (and licensing fees) with tasty loops that would sound right at home alongside Madlib and MF DOOM. Lyrically, they both do their thing, rhyming about extravagant lifestyles, ridiculous swagger, and staying lifted all day long. \"The Blend,\" \"Revenge and Cake,\" and \"Cabana\" are highlights.
