Grime

Having survived label disputes and a long-simmering beef with Dizzee Rascal, grime originator Richard Cowie looks inward on this rugged fourth album. Not that *Grime Wave*—from the distorted Flamenco of the titular opening track onwards—is in any sense a work of sombre introspection. “Local Lad” spits flames in the name of LDNl, and “Fire Ain’t Burning No More” is a monument to Wiley’s mastery of space-age production and dextrous bars.
