In 2015, Los Angeles DJ/producer Jennifer Lee, a.k.a. TOKiMONSTA, was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain disease that caused her to temporarily lose the ability to walk, speak, and comprehend music. After two surgeries, she gradually began writing *Lune Rouge*, a heavy collection of twinkling, psychedelic electro-R&B that’s imaginative and blissfully hopeful. Featuring Joey Purp, Isaiah Rashad, and MNDR, it places catchy toplines over twisted basslines with L.A. beat scene adventurousness. Don\'t miss “Estrange,” a lulling blur of plucky xylophones, clangy metallic tones, and IO Echo’s layered harmonies, that sounds like the soundtrack to a dream.
