Is screamo dead? Some might hope so. Screamo royalty Thursday have seen more drama than Eastenders in the past few years, but they're back to prove it's not over yet.

Although initially a leading light in the screamo/post-hardcore scene, Thursday began to transcend that movement in 2006, when A City by the Light Divided introduced an emphasis on dynamics and melodic nuance to the band's sound.

The album is tremendously affecting, but it’s also the first time a Thursday release isn’t an unambiguous improvement on its predecessor.
