LA indie crew The Marías follow up their 2017 debut, *Superclean, Vol. I*, with a second volume maybe even more laidback and abstract. While they bump to gentle disco beats, both “Ruthless” and “Clueless” are better suited to chilling than dancing, inviting you to drift away on their luxurious, jazz-tinged ambiance. Slowing the pulse even further, “Abq” and “Loverboy” shimmer like R&B jams, though occasionally threatening to dissolve into a beatless haze of sweetly murmured vocals and psychedelic synth washes. *Superclean, Vol. II* is immaculately crafted pop designed to both soothe and surprise.
