Down River in the Distance

Just out of clear vision, shaded by thick plumes of dancing black smoke rising from the towering cylinder, just a few miles down the highway by the drainage basin there's a menacing shape -- can't make it out some kind of a primeval hum emanates from it and glides through the fog that's resting just off the water, the last vestige of an all-but-eroded memory a few of them heard it too and with bugles and drums and ugly carols they march their way down to try and make out what it could be.
