Electronic programming whirrs through \"The Condition,\" while \"To the Key of Evergreen\" tempers snarling licks with spacious post-rock that blooms like a sunrise. Mike Hranica\'s incisive lyrics allude to William Faulkner and Simone de Beauvoir while covering everyday life\'s nagging preoccupations—restlessness, longing, anxiety—as well as weightier issues, such as gun control.
