Keep It Moving EP
Hot on the heels of their third studio LP ‘Steal The Show’, Bristol’s favourite sons - The Allergies are back with more jams than your Auntie Sheila’s pantry. Not content with just serving up 13 heaters on the aforementioned record, the boys have been back up in the lab assembling this nifty little EP for you… Headed up by a total heavyweight taken from that album - ‘Keep It Moving’. It’s a platform for Welsh based MC and resident member of Afro Cluster – Skunkadelic, to provide us with some authentic UK hip hop flavours. Delivered via his signature baritone over some classic soul beats from the boys – it’s a good old-fashioned rap track with a positive message. That’s what we like. ‘When The Heat Comes Down’ won a ton of admirers at radio when it was released last October for its funky groove and good-time party rap from international hip hop dons ASM. This version sees it reimagined by The Allergies themselves with the funk factor ramped up to eleven. Linguistic athlete - Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling) has become something of a mainstay on Allergies records and it’s easy to see why with tracks like ‘Run It Back’ demonstrating his prowess on the mic. Funk DJ extraordinaire Smoove steps up to revise this outrageous acapella with some heavy artillery breaks that are already doing damage in the clubs. Rounding things off is the classic Allergies cut ‘Entitled To That’ - but not as we know it (Jim). Keeping you on your toes - this upbeat ‘Roots Mix’ version sees the boys look to their reggae influences for inspiration.
