The Pegadrift
from Mathieu Duval's 'My Record Collection' website 'I really hope this will get a wider release because there is some top notch Sunburned madness on this tape. The whole first side is filled by the amazing Horse Country Blues, a fifteen minute exercise in head-crushing excessiveness! Some parts sound like a cross between spaghetti western-era Ennio Morricone as interpreted by Acid Mothers Temple (it certainly is as loud). The last few minutes of this track are so fucking intense, the drums so unrelenting and the noise so out-of-control, it's sure to cause a concussion in some listeners! Simply brilliant! The second side includes two tracks of Sunburned's bizarre poetry/rants (which you either love or hate) à la beatnik generation. I love it when they fall into surreal territory, but it's practically impossible to make out what is being said here. The closing Wooden Welcome is a brief return to pounding heavydom before the tape abruptly ends, leaving you begging for more!'
