Live in Shit
from Mathieu Duval's 'My Record Collection' website 'A second tour only CD-R which was released at the same time as Knifelife. The music here is more disturbing and gloomy, sometimes bordering on drone. The cover art was apparently taken in part from drawings by a homeless person and the overall feeling of the record is that of despair. It's so primitive and bare and actually sounds like it could have been created by a bunch of hairy bums who were jamming with found instruments. It certainly doesn't make any sense on a whole (not that that was ever a pre-requisite for SHOTM releases!). The perfect soundtrack to shooting up or smoking crack cocaine if there ever was one. You'll probably want to take a shower after listing to it. The last track, Drizzled reminded me a bit of a track by the Butthole Surfers entitled Jimi. It certainly conjures up the same disturbing atmosphere.'
