Ambient
Noteable

This ultra deep, dark ambient set of pieces was created entirely on Electric Guitar and and array of loopers, delays and signal processing creating an emotional release that stands alone in Steve's body of work. Touching the ineffable, this music presents a meditation on solitude and quiet isolation. Atmospheric music in the true sense of the word. This slow swirling lattice of smokey melodic-harmonic patterns rises and falls out of the silence which becomes an equal component with the music. Midnight Moon will appeal to anyone who has appreciated the purely atmospheric and darker side of Roach’s influential style over the last four decades. “From the very start, listening to Midnight Moon is like being born into a dark dream, a floating void of pre-existence . . . This chilling terrain is not without a haunting essence of something human lurking in its folds and shadows. Rife with mood and substance, Midnight Moon is the ultimate in melancholy space music, representing some of Roach’s most enigmatic and intuitive music to date.” – Mark Burbey, writer for ALTERNATIVE PRESS released June 19, 2000

While Midnight Moon may not be Steve Roach's first recorded encounter with a guitar, it is his first recording playing the guitar.
