This is the first time *Live in Nashville, 1995* has been released as a standalone album. (Previously, this set was only available as part of *The Warner Bros. Years* box set.) The concert from Nashville\'s Polk Theater on Dec. 1, 1995, represents a major turning point in Steve Earle’s career. It’s considered his “comeback” show, performed after he’d completed rehab and a short prison stay. The Train Band of Peter Rowan, Norman Blake, and Roy Husky Jr.—who appeared on that year’s studio album *Train A-Comin’*—form his acoustic backing group, and guest appearances from Emmylou Harris and Bill Monroe further the set\'s legendary allure. A knockabout country-rock version of The Beatles’ “I’m Looking Through You” is just as emotionally riveting as his classic “The Devil’s Right Hand” and the then-current “Sometimes She Forgets.” Harris brings her best to a cover of The Melodians’ “The Rivers of Babylon,” which transforms the reggae classic into a deep Americana track. For Steve Earle fans, this set is a must-have.

Live in Nashville 1995 is singer and songwriter Steve Earle's Nashville "comeback" concert, issued after completing rehab after a stay in a corrections facility.

Nashville 1995 captures Earle at the tail end of his transition period from more traditional country guitarist to folk singer and roots rocker.
