For some two years now, OhGeesy, Fenix Flexin, Rob Vicious, and Master Kato have been making waves as a group and concurrently with solo endeavors. But with the release of *Mafia Bidness*, the Los Angeles collective properly embeds itself into the national rap landscape with a slew of guests to back them up, including Drakeo the Ruler and Kodak Black. After a rambunctious opening skit, they get right down to it with “Run It Back,” a brooding rework of a Cash Money classic with Watts native 03 Greedo in tow. From there, the crew indulges in their shared vices on “Perc Popper” and offers convincing come-ons over the West Coast boogie of “Change Ya Life.” Later, Q Da Fool and YG tap in for the anthemic “Gangstas & Sippas” remix, while Future lends his experiential expertise to the narcotized hedonism of “Poe the Drop.”

6.5 / 10

The buzzing L.A. rap group flattens some of its personality with its major-label debut, a mix of party cuts and bland compromises.
