Geotope
Sendai: Geotope (T2X20) Geotope is Sendai's first album. After two 12" singles in 2009 the duo consisting of Yves De Mey and Peter Van Hoesen return with a thrilling collection of advanced electronic music. Geotope is a no-compromise experimental album that sees the duo moving away from the dancefloor into an altogether more varied and daring sonic domain. The album shows a clear sensibility for stripping things down to their bare essentials. It is the result of a road traveled together without any compromise. In essence Geotope combines both artists' influences and experience into a dynamic, ever-evolving sonic environment. "Geotope is the middle ground between the visceral impact of Van Hoesen’s best work and De Mey’s intricate sonic structures, and is certainly one of the best sounding records I’ve heard yet this year." (...) There are a handful of artists and labels operating in this area, but only a few are able to seamlessly connect the dots between something academic and something earnest. Sendai have, and you’ll want to immerse yourself in the results for quite some time." - Little White Earbuds "Despite the almost aggressive resistance to techno's norms, Geotope provides a solid narrative and evolution that proves rewarding listening." - Shallow Rave. "Geotope is de tijdsopname van het ideale moment waarop digitale muzikale vormgeving perfect samengaat met de zoektocht naar verpulverende, pulserende krachten. Dit is Belgisch en absolute wereldklasse! ” - Gonzo Circus "Un disco para escuchar con tranquilidad en el hogar o en el Ipod, que de vez en cuando te puede dar un sobresalto acústico, pero en general muy escuchable y muy útil para la meditación trascendental si la hubiere." - Clubbingspain
