Given their combined age of 162 at this album’s release, you might expect a justifiable slowing down by these two distinguished musicians. But you will find no trace of that here. Martha Argerich sparkles in this most delightful of Beethoven piano concertos, her fingers zipping over the keys with the dexterity of a player a fraction of her age. Her musical imagination, as vivid and communicative as ever, is boundless. And Ozawa draws comparably energized music-making from his handpicked Mito players. The Grieg *Holberg Suite* is done with precision and elegance, and the little Mozart movement is a delight. An enchanting album from two musical titans.
