Ambient
The Earth’s Green Mantle abounds in lush, subtly undulating drones, fluttering reverberations, and soft-as-grass pads, all of which seem to celebrate the beauty of our planet, while at the same lamenting its fragility and transience. Infused with equal measures of patient hope and anxious uncertainty, the narrative arc of this work will – like the Strugatsky novel that the song titles reference – linger long in the hearts and ears of listeners even after the final echoes fade away. Multiple listens required. This album was created as a companion piece to Sean Curtis Patrick’s first Japan tour, in cooperation with Muzan Editions, Soni House, Yokai Soho, Nyabinghi, and Club Stomp.
