Caroline Shaw’s *The Isle*, suffused with the spirit of Shakespeare’s *The Tempest*, forces us to rethink our attitude to harmony in wonderfully imaginative ways. A real tour de force. Peter S. Shin’s *Bits torn from words* is sensational in its creativity and ambition—the vocalization envelops and uplifts. William Brittelle’s *Psychedelics*, which opens the album, creates a mesmerizing musical universe while Eve Beglarian’s *None More Than You* blends very different vocal sounds and musical traditions to come up with a work of genuine originality.
