Blues Rock
Though Robin Trower ignites plenty of guitar pyrotechnics, *Where You Are Going To* primarily serves as a showcase for the blues rocker’s emotional ruminations on ills both social and personal. “When Will the Next Blow Fall” is a smoldering indictment of a civilization drowning in strife. “Child carries child, the world refuses to see,” he seethes. On “The Fruits of Your Desire,” he slow-cooks funk infused with ominous, reap-what-you-sow prophecy. Album closer “Delusion Sweet Delusion” offers no parting glimmer of hope, only pained resignation that dissolves in an achingly weary axe solo.
