The World Is Yours

Years before *The World Is Yours*, Rich The Kid amassed major clout via a dedicated social media presence and an enviable proximity to hip-hop’s biggest names. The album’s lead single, “New Freezer,” however—a track with an off-kilter bounce danceable enough to have birthed the #newfreezerchallenge—gave the world a Rich The Kid song to sing. *The World Is Yours* boasts plenty of big names (Future, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne, among others), but Rich is clearly betting on himself, whether carrying bona fide club hits like “Plug Walk,” puffing his chest out on “Dead Friends,” or opening up about his perfect woman on “Small Things.”

The young Atlanta rapper argues that he’s made it, but his pro forma trap debut suggests that he’s not quite there yet.
