Collecting a few leftovers from their 2020 album The Main Thing, Real Estate continue to expand the sound of the band as well as their song lengths to mixed results.

Long-running New Jersey indie band Real Estate delivered their fifth album, The Main Thing, just over a decade after they'd formed, applying the relaxed and melodic songwriting formula they'd perfected over the years to songs about adult responsibilities and the ever-changing tides of time.

To some, Real Estate’s jangly, easygoing sound is anachronistic in the current tightly wound world of popular music. To others though, their brand of indie-influenced surf rock is the perfect solution to the stress of everyday life.
