Our Imaginary Birds
My debut album for Moodgadget. From Boomkat: Carl Ritger describes ‘Our Imaginary Birds’ as a perfect soundtrack for the rainy springtime and I can’t disagree. With damp moss underfoot and flowers sprouting from springy earth, these two twenty minute compositions might be the best way to herald in the sunshine. There’s an almost Cocteau Twins-like sense of hazy bliss on the album’s opener "A Jolly Gentleman of Home & Orchard" as effected guitar shimmers in between layers of tape hiss. The second half, entitled "Of Air-Borne Grace & Finality" darkens the mood slightly, and brings elements of Eno’s early works into the fray, with wavering tape loops and haunted field recordings giving a much-needed grittiness to proceedings. Very beautiful stuff indeed.
