My buddy,Jan, always says he likes these songs better when I play them acoustic by myself... Come to think of it....I guess I do to. I tend to listen to the live bootleg and solo acoustic versions of the songwriters I like, so during the tracking of the "Scars of Man" albums, I recorded a version of these songs that was stripped down and recorded live...just guitar and voice. After giving it some time to sit, I decided I could do better so I tried again a couple weeks ago. That one also didn't turn out so well...Red light fever I guess... So a couple days later I recorded it with two separate tracks doing guitars first and laying down vocals shortly after. I figured this one was decent enough and I had better leave well enough alone, so I sent it over to Spenser for him to mess with it and this is the result. Ultimately, I tried to make an honest representation of these songs. These tracks are the first collection of acoustic songs I have done. I know there's generally a couple acoustic songs on every album I make, but this record was a first for me and it was pretty intimidating for me not to be able to hide behind screamed vocals and a wall of reverb and delay. Any how, I hope somebody finds something to enjoy in this recording. I know it is not new music and it is rough around the edges, but it was just something I wanted to try out....and the same as with "the scars of man on the once nameless wilderness 1 and 2", not one person was asked to review this recording. I want to thank all the folks I've met at the shows this past year for all the kindness they have shown, and of course thank my wife, Bek, and my sons, Håkan and Rune for putting up with all this and supporting me. I love y'all. don't let the fire burn out. Austin ps. There isn't a plan for a physical release of this...this was just something I put up for fun.
