When Oliver Tree hit on the idea of making an EP inspired by Russian dance music, he didn’t do things by halves. Santa Cruz\'s premier purveyor of electro-pop swapped the California sun for the Moscow chill for four months, immersing himself in the country\'s club culture. The result is a sound he describes as \'RUSSIAMERICAN\', a sharp blend of his own slick synth-pop with the monolithic beats of hardbass. This four-track EP, made with Russian rave outfit Little Big, sees the two collaborators playfully deconstruct internet culture whilst extolling the value of creativity at a time of conflict.
