Icons, Abstract Thee

of Montrealoriginally intended to make its critically acclaimed Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? a double album, but ultimately decided to pare down the tracklist to a more traditional 12 songs. Icons, Abstract Thee features five tracks that were recorded at the same time as Hissing Fauna, but did not make it onto the album. Musically and lyrically similar to the full-length, Icons, Abstract Thee is an essential companion piece to Hissing Fauna.

Rather than coming across like a set of castoffs from this year's outstanding Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, this tour EP instead reads like the condensed version of its parent album's themes and sound.
