Seek Not Your Fortune
NONCONNAH /// SEEK NOT YOUR FORTUNE: OUTTAKES 2015-2018 ----- Semi-awake and still yearning, we collapse continents through pulsing dreams of solemn youth foresworn, a sunlit ache borne of phantom wires crossing grey and ashen skies, in concealing grasses looming beyond the circling cracked driveways, in lurking hollows. I have held you here in my fiercest winter glow, all trembling fingers longing to brush the slightest pale reveal of worry-worn skin, and I have fallen fathoms swimming through the reeds of hazed and shadowed yesterdays, ready to claim your door in the gloom of shared, darkened August, alone and namelessly ashore. Set free those fangs of decadent summer rust, lift arms once dragged asunder to the vast tidal thrust of flaming hours, and let the film decay forever with new voids blossoming at the periphery, now that all is aswarm with weighted glances and fevered recollections, and let the ruined glass trap the echo where the final page was cast in golden blood-song.
