*Beyond Skin* fuses traditional jazz and Indian influences with electronica and breakbeat culture to bewitching effect. Gathered by London-born multi-instrumentalist/producer Nitin Sawhney, an ensemble cast of guest vocalists helps to bring his visions to life: Brazilian singer Tina Grace turns \"Letting Go\" into a bittersweet trip-hop excursion, while \"Nadia\" is a drum \'n\' bass missive conveyed in Hindi. But most haunting of all is the piano-based instrumental \"Tides,\" which shimmers between emotions of heartbreak and hope.
