Comes a Time
Neil Young\'s 1978 album was an effective bookend for the introspective country of *Harvest*—its acoustic charms are distinctly elegiac and, in hindsight, gently nostalgic as well. That sensibility is openly acknowledged on the opening track, “Goin\' Back,\" and further underscored on Young\'s cover of Ian Tyson\'s \"Four Strong Winds.\" The plaintive \"Lotta Love\" (featuring breakout guest vocalist Nicolette Larson) and the bluegrass-tinged \"Human Highway\" showcase Young\'s skills as a songwriter.
Six and a half years later, Comes a Time finally was the Neil Young album for the millions of fans who had loved Harvest, an acoustic-based record with country overtones and romantic, autobiographical lyrics, and many of those fans returned to the fold, enough to make Comes a Time Young's first Top Ten album since Harvest.
