Echolocation #1
Recorded in late 2009 and early 2010, on top of a dresser in Phoenixville, PA. A person goes through minutes and hours and days and weeks in the studio only to find an entire series has unfolded before their eyes, and the major work was yet to be taken on...finding the overarching ideas and organizing them to share with other people...to sift through the mania. It is now late 2011 I finally get around to sharing with you Echolocation #1 from my orange recliner in rural Minnesota. Some clarity on this series. These tracks are largely improvised. They may find some common themes or are based on preconceived melodies but they are performed live to a stereo feed with an absolute minimum amount of post processing or editing (and no post effects of any kind). Do not lose yourself in the chronology of these releases. They are not numbered based on when they should be released, but rather on how the full story will unfold in the end. Many thanks to CVM for supporting my lifestyle, to Maria and Oliver for the home fires, and to Jean and Joe for their intangible influences. 75 copies made. reviews: www.auricular.com/blog/?p=835 weedtemple.tumblr.com/post/18124235767/review-nathan-mclaughlin-echolocation-1-digitalis
