Comic books and hip-hop have always had a tight connection (see: Tony Stark, DOOM, *De La Soul Is Dead*, David Banner, MF Grimm\'s *Sentences*, Bumpy Knuckles *Industry Shakedown*, etc.). On *Yumiko: Curse of the Merch Girl*, they come together again. L.A. indie-rap icon Murs has been around forever, recording both solo and with his Living Legends crew, founding the wildly popular *Paid Dues* festival, and performing all over the world. Here, with the help of Kickstarter and his international fanbase, he drops a 10-track concept album that comes with a full-on graphic novel of more than 100 pages. Produced entirely by DJ Foundation, the project tells the tale of beautiful Yumi, who works the merch table for her boyfriend\'s band Murder Acts. Like all of Murs\' work, it\'s highly lyrical and immensely entertaining, weaving together humor, wisdom, struggle, triumph, and positivity with charismatic and highly visual storytelling as only he can deliver. Don\'t miss \"God\'s Gone Crazy,\" \"On Your Own,\" and \"Piece Now.\"
