SHAPE OF LOVE
On their 11th mini album, South Korean boy band MONSTA X are experts at establishing a clever narrative across genres, selecting tracks that create a cohesive—and in this case, romantic—whole. On *SHAPE of LOVE*, adoration appears on the sexy analog crackles and bed-squeaks of opener “LOVE” and on the lively, \'90s-hip-hop-inspired call-and-response EDM-pop “Burning Up,” featuring clubmaster DJ R3HAB. (“You set my fire, I\'m hopeless/All I need is your love,” the sextet harmonizes on the chorus.) Elsewhere, love takes on new genres, and, well, shapes—like in the surprisingly funky anti-anxiety anthem “Breathe,” the rap-rock ballad \"사랑한다,” and “AND,” a lighters-up kind of chorus, one that starts slow and ends with the release’s emotional high.
The sultry six-piece share their own definition of love on their eclectic, impassioned 11th mini-album 'Shape Of Love'.
