Chromos
The Chromos EP is the musical component to a collaborative project between Max Cooper, Emmy winning visual effects specialist and mathematician Andy Lomas, and research scientists Mikhail Spivakov, Peter Fraser and Csilla Varnai at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge. The project uses data from chromosomal conformation capture experiments, which was used to create a visual representation of DNA molecule structure and formation, on which the music was based - seething coils of live instrumentation and generative digital synthesis for the first two pieces. The remainder of the release includes Molten Landscapes - the final track from the Emergence visual project, of which Chromos and Coils of Living Synthesis are also both part - and a club-oriented remix of Chromos from Cosmin TRG.
