The opening “Harder to Breathe” grooves on a funky rock foundation, with Levine hitting high tenor notes. “This Love” is just as catchy, with dialed-down guitars and an octane boost to the band’s funk engine. “She Will Be Loved” simmers down for a beachy serenade before the strolling “Sunday Morning” braids Levine’s love for Jay Kay and Stevie Wonder with some Philly-flavored blue-eyed soul.
