Following up the platinum breakthrough of *Tornado* is no easy trick, but Little Big Town pull it off by playing to their strengths—great songs, chilling harmonies, and fierce performances. Besides the excellent collaborations with Natalie Hemby (who penned *Tornado*\'s biggest hits), we love *Pain Killer*’s mix of country earthiness, rock ‘n’ roll edge, and pop-savvy hooks. The sassy, soulful tones of Karen Fairchild dominate, but all four members take brilliant turns at the mic, from the barnstorming \"Save Your Sin\" to the slow-burning soul of \"Girl Crush.” Still, it’s the band’s signature four-part harmonies on cuts like \"Silver and Gold” that make *Pain Killer* so gratifying.
