Continuing the countdown to album 3 that began at the end of 2020, Lifted is pleased to present the 3.2 EP.   Drawn entirely from un-used recordings made in 2017 at Tempo House (during LP 2 sessions), this EP is more a reorientation than a review. The free-funk juggernaut “Cushion Push”, featuring Will DiMaggio and Jordan GCZ, is a prime example of this directional shift. Throughout, the Lifted crew touch on levitating Bop and cold Fusion.   Things start off with “Cushion Push” showcasing Jeremy Hyman’s locked-in freedom behind the drum kit and Motion Graphics fantasy chamber strings. Will and Jordan are given the arena to volley lines on synths and keys for a bubbling, luscious effect.   “Purplelight Beat” takes end-of-the-session shards from Lifted 2 song “Purplelight Wish,” and combines them with ghosts of Bass Clef’s trombone contributions to make a perfumed track that both simmers and smolders.    “Cushion Beat” is a Max D flip of “Cushion Push,” bringing Jordan GCZ’s Rhodes take into a steady rotation that blooms and blooms.
