At 30 songs and three hours, *Live in Dublin* presents an entire Leonard Cohen concert from start to end to multiple encores. Recorded on Sept. 12, 2013, at Dublin’s 02 Arena during Cohen’s sold-out 2012-13 world tour, the concert features Cohen presenting songs from his then-recent album *Old Ideas*, alongside his ever-growing catalog of modern-day standards. At 80, the singer performs with a seductive power that’s as tough as Iggy Pop and more sensual than Lana Del Rey. Cohen uses his slow, deliberate, poetic sense—and a tough-sounding band—to bring reinforced life to every favorite.

Leonard Cohen's latest live album since he returned to the road in 2008 is a concert film and triple album captured in September 2013 at the Irish venue now known as 3Arena. The songs you know and plenty of songs you should know better are probably here, as is Cohen's joyful interaction with the audience and his gift for interpreting his own work.

The old master continues to show himself as a capable performer as he enters his eighties.

Cohen’s voice has aged and deteriorated since Field Commander Cohen was recorded, and in some ways the new instrument is just as compelling as the old.

[xrr rating=4.0/5]In theory, there is absolutely no need for another Leonard Cohen concert album, let alone Live in Dublin.
