Somewhere Between Here and There is the soundtrack to a movie no one's ever seen, based in a place nobody knows exists. It is about everything and nothing. Under no circumstances was Vitamin D absorption tolerated during the creation of this project. This is a night time listening album, dreams of sunlight are permitted but only briefly. I too enjoy the finer things but sometimes the only luxury needed is that which assists your descent into the gloomy pits of selfish desolation. I somehow became completely flat broke during the creation process and I don't really feel any particular way about it. I am somewhere between houses and a windowless studio were time doesn't exist; sleeping on a mattress in the booth. Every single second of every song was meticulously crafted around the clock none stop for who knows how long. As I write this pretentious bullshit sunk into this comfy sofa in a nice apartment with even nicer lighting somewhere in West London, I am fighting a very violent urge to either board up every extravagantly large window or just run head first right through one of them. Maybe in the direction of the studio booth to sleep and ignore the constraints of time. Or maybe I will simply find the exact point between here and there and stand completely still for eternity. Somewhere between sleep deprived cabin withdrawal and extreme manic happiness, I sit with a glass of orange juice and Courvoisier swirling the ice cubes around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and...
