Niles Hollowell-Dhar may be celebrated globally for his EDM tracks but he’s always had a penchant for hip-hop. Better known as KSHMR, the Indian-American songwriter and producer leans into his roots on *KARAM*, calling on some of the finest rappers in India: Pune star MC Stan, Raja Kumari, Raftaar, Hanumankind and Yashraj dominate their tracks. Not only do bangers like “Bhussi”—with producer Karan Kanchan and silver-tongued Seedhe Maut—make for a relentlessly propulsive album, but the regular interludes also weave together a dark, adventurous tale set in Mumbai’s underworld.
