Kip Moore’s smooth, slightly raspy, Southern-inflected vocals color his rocking debut album, *Up All Night*. The Georgia-born, Nashville-based country singer/songwriter displays a penchant for vivid storytelling from the jump as he turns his attention toward universal themes of young love (“Drive Me Crazy”), cutting loose (“Beer Money”), and celebrating life’s simple things (“Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck”). Some tunes here have a touch of twang, yet many could also be filed under alt-rock. Regardless of genre, Moore creates compelling compositions about wooing a special woman and seizing the day (and night), especially on the emotionally stirring title track and the heart-on-his-sleeve closer, “Faith When I Fall.”

Kip Moore’s single "Somethin’ About a Truck" has one of those perfectly generic titles; imagine it as a sketch of country radio overall today.
