Hasta El Cielo (Con Todo El Mundo In Dub)

Somehow, Khruangbin—the genre-detonating Texas trio—writes songs that hint at unexplored dimensions. But on their third album, *Hasta El Cielo*, they pick one of those dimensions and push it further. The album is a dub reworking of 2018’s *Con Todo El Mundo*; throughout, they strip each song down, creating a sense of space that can verge on hypnotic. Tracks such as the dreamy “Mary Always” come across as engrossing new incarnations instead of complete reworkings, while “Four of Five” and “The Red Book” incorporate Caribbean grooves alongside funk beats and psychedelic rock. Khruangbin always sounded ready to take off, but now they’re floating in the cosmos.
