It’s a Cash Money reunion: The fiery former Hot Boy reconnects with Mannie Fresh, the beatmaker behind his earliest hits, for five tracks on Juvenile’s tenth album. The veterans branch out beyond the Dirty South on “Power,” where Mannie flips Snap!’s similarly titled 1990 hit into operatic trap with a fittingly luxe Rick Ross verse. But Juve’s fully in the pocket on bounce-inspired beats like the springy “Can’t Stop My Money,” and his carefully constructed rhythms feel effortless on the bluesy “Bad Guy.”

Rejuvenation may aspire to a comeback, but it’s a lukewarm effort from an MC who likely has nowhere to go but down.
