Hushed and mellow, Joshua Radin’s seventh album is a marvel of quiet introspection. His muted, honey-toned melodies and lilting multitracked harmonies suggest a one-man Simon & Garfunkel; the singsong chorus and chiming acoustic chords of “High and Low” conjure visions of “Cecilia” and “Homeward Bound.” But Radin’s guileless declarations—“If you forget about me now, I’ll be here waiting / I’ll keep this love alive somehow,” he murmurs on “Waiting”—lend his songs a naked intimacy, underscored by his restrained production.
