BTWN
Jacek Sienkiewicz “BTWN” (Recognition) “BTWN” is a companion album to “IMOW”, an album which Sienkiewicz considers his most personal work to date. In fact, it goes even further in revealing the artist’s creative process, appearing like pages from a self-penned diary. “BTWN”, or “between” is as much a document of creative process as personal life; life between recording sessions, performances, travels, between places and people. “BTWN” is a record made from sonic debris, studio litter, accidental noises and glitches. It’s a wildlife documentary, treating studio as a living organism, with its sometimes purposeful, sometimes erratic behaviour. The majority of material here was sourced from feedbacks, cracks and random noises filling the space between recordings, from casual loops and unexpected hang-ups and little malfunctions. Jacek Sienkiewicz took some time to roughly organise these small pieces of everyday life and indeed turned this chaos into work of unparalleled beauty.
