Even if by now - thanks to his numerous projects/bands such as VACANT COFFIN, ACID WITCH or CLAWS, all sharing the same dedication to death-metal the ancient way - Lasse Pyykkö has become a reference in the world of all things old-school and creepy, back in 2008 he was still ‘just’ PHLEGETHON mastermind, a forgotten death/thrash gem from the early 90’s Finnish scene that had recently woken back from its fifteen years plus slumber. Formed during summer 2007 under the combine influences of the mighty ‘Blind Dead’ series and heavy doses of dooooooom as professed by the gods such as CATHEDRAL, AUTOPSY or CANDLEMASS, HOODED MENACE would soon prove to be Pyykkö most popular and successful outfit. The relationship with DOOMENTIA began with their inaugural release, the cult two-tracks demo ‘The Eyeless Horde’: initially pressed on limited CDr by Pyykkö himself, it was re-released a year later by the label on a classy 7 inches with gatefold cover. From then on, both walked hand in hand in the alley of damnation towards their doom. And now, after the highly successful vinyl versions of both albums - ‘Fulfill’ had to be repressed three (!) times to face the demand and each run still sold-out in a matter of days - and two split EPs (with ANIMA MORTE and COFFINS), DOOMENTIA and HOODED MENACE team up one more time to offer the official CD repress of the band’s already classic debut. Initially released by RAZORBACK RECORDS from the US in October 2008, ‘Fulfill The Curse’ soon became the label’s top seller and is now two years at long last available for the first time officially in Europe thanks to DOOMENTIA. And since an evil album deserves an evil packaging, it’ll be available in inverted cross shaped digipack with metallic printing. Now beware of the Blind Dead as they’re coming for YOU!
