Hot off signing to UK label Communion Records, Honeymoan’s second EP reinforces lead singer Alison Rachel’s love for an unconventional narrative. As her band showcase strong hooks alongside catchy indie-pop progressions, she deals with the effects of anxiety and depression (“Still Here”), a world that commodifies women’s sexuality (“Fidelio”), unrequited love (“Weirdo”) and the stubborn nature of middle-class guilt (“Too Much”). This alternative four-piece brew dream pop, shoegaze and synths into a giant bubbling cauldron and the end product is sweeter than most.
