True to their quirky nature, the South Africa quartet’s latest four-track treat is a neat collection of energetic electro-indie sounds they’ve worked hard to hone. With tracks like “Club Dread” detailing the onslaught of emotion one feels in the wake of a breakup, and “Super Emotional” dealing with a full-on identity crisis of twentysomethings searching for meaning and purpose, their bubbly synth progressions help keep the mood light. Exploring the ups and downs of youth and early adulthood, alongside love and lust, and the deliciously millennial ideology of pursuing one’s creative passion despite not being able to pay the rent at the end of the month, HONEYMOAN continue to relate to reality head-on.

In the age of streaming, the EP still has its place for emerging artists who are not quite debut album ready. EPs certainly tend to generate more press than a standard single and from a campaign perspective provide more bang for the buck.
