The Fourth Dimensions of a Nubian Mystic
It's long been documented that Jamal Moss, better known as Hieroglyphic Being has been directly influenced by Sun Ra and the legendary house music innovator Ron Hardy. These influences are clearer than usual on his forthcoming release for Photomachine's Technicolor label. Jamal's signature haze still exists, but now you can hear the experimental jazz tinges bubbling underneath the acidic synth lines. "The Fourth Dimension" is where chaos meets order, where Hieroglyphic Being, the self proclaimed Sun God chooses to shine. "Star Time" is a murkier peak time love affair with only the most faint of synth lines piercing through the darkness. Jamal has proven he's long been a purveyor of subtlety and with this release he manages to include his passion for pure and punishing techno albeit with a delicate master stroke.
