Unden!Able

*Unden!able* comprises the metal supergroup’s crunchiest, heaviest grooves yet. Once you’re past the dramatic ambient buildup of the opener, furious drums and pummeling guitars take root almost instantly on “X” as they alternate between chugging the song forward and mimicking a car swerving out of control. But what continues to set these guys apart are Chad Gray’s vocals—which favor confrontational, almost rap-like missives as much as throat-shredding growls—and their steadfast dedication to a groove. It’s angsty, ferocious, and dark all the way through, but there’s a tuneful sway to Hellyeahs muscle that’s welcomingly unpredictable.
